Life Planning Programme – Arts Industry Exploration
1a space partners with The Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (ADAHK) and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) in ‘Life Planning Programme – Arts Industry Exploration’ in coming May to July 2018. Students will be actively engaged in discussion with artists and cultural workers in different disciplines. The programme not only aims at introducing the local cultural and arts industries but also inspiring the students to discover and create more possibilities in their life planning.
The Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (ADAHK) present first ‘Life Planning Programme – Arts Industry Exploration’ from March to July 2018.
Through a series of activities including dialogue with artists, visits to arts education organisations or community arts groups and participation in programmes of the West Kowloon Cultural District, students will be actively engaged in discussion with artists and cultural workers in different disciplines. The programme not only aims at introducing the local cultural and arts industries, but also inspiring the students to discover and create more possibilities in their life planning. Applications closed at March 29th.
The programme consists of three parts: exploration, guided art tours and sharing. Details are as follows:
Part 1 Exploration: Dialogue with Artists
‘What are the requirements to become an artist? Can an artist be successful only by one’s passion?’ Content : This programme will invite local mainstream artists and artists with different abilities on the ‘1+1’ basis to share their work experiences and challenges as full-time artists in the campus. Target : Secondary 1 to 6 students Duration : About 1 hour
Part 2 Guided Art Tour: Multifaceted Arts Industry
‘Artists not only work for creation?’ Content : Students will visit two art groups engaged in different types of work, including arts education organisations, community arts groups, professional arts groups and arts and cultural organisations. Students will meet teams and artists and learn about the multiple identities of artists, understand various considerations from conceptual design to implementation of artistic programmes and gain a glimpse of the diversity of local arts industry. Target : Secondary 4 to 6 students interested in visual arts or performing arts Duration : About 3 to 4 hours
Part 3 Students’ Sharing
Content : Students will share with their schoolmates, teachers and parents via various channels such as school communications, the Intranet, assembly or bulletin board display about their experience gained with the programme. Guidance and allowance will be made available for the documentation.
