Art Basel will return to Hong Kong for its sixth edition at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, featuring 248 premier galleries from 32 countries and territories. The show provides an in-depth overview of the region’s diversity through both historical material and cutting-edge works by established and emerging artists.
1a space has been organizing the fair’s school tours on providing insights on art appreciation to art teachers and students since its inaugural show in Hong Kong. Reaching the 6th year of the partnership with Art Basel in Hong Kong this year, 1a space is now looking for docents providing tours for school teachers and students aged 11 or above during the show period from Thursday 29 and Friday 30 March 2018.
1a space is now looking for 10 docents providing up to 3 tours a day. Each tour will last for 45 minutes with maximum 18 participants in Cantonese or English. Selected docents will be responsible for sharing information about the art fair, participating artists and their works from selected galleries. A briefing and training session will be provided to the docents. A commitment of up to 7 hours per day is expected, between 27th March – 30th March. In return, 1a space will provide a complimentary pass to the Art Basel in Hong Kong which allows docent to enter the fair for the entire fair period ( 27th March – 31st March 2017) . Limited travel allowance will be provided.
Requirements:
Major in Fine Arts, or other Arts & Cultural disciplines preferably with knowledge of art history in the field of contemporary art
Strong communication and organizational skills
Fluency in Cantonese and English

Over the past 20 years, 1a space has presented and organized more than 140 exhibitions and activities. 1a space has played a vital role in developing new frontiers for the visual arts scene in Hong Kong and its representation abroad.
