2017 is a flourishing year for art-lovers with three major art world events coincides:
>>The 57th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale
As the world’s first original biennale, the world most prominent contemporary visual art event which take place in Venice city center every other year since 1895. The first biennial of Italian Art was established to celebrate the silver anniversary of King Umberto I and Margherita of Savoy. In the year of 1920 after the World War I, it was first introduced to avant-garde art, and renewed its attention to movement in contemporary art in 1949 after the WWII.
The 57th International Art Exhibition will be opened to the public from May 13 to November 26 with in the historic Pavilions at the Giardini, at the Arsenale and in the historic city center of Venice. The exhibition titled VIVA ARTE VIVA will be curated by Christine Macel dedicating to celebrating, and almost giving thanks for, the very existence of art and artists, whose worlds expand our perspective and the space of our existence. It features 120 international artists from 51 countries. Hong Kong’s presentation at the Venice Biennale will see the collaboration of M+ and Hong Kong Arts Development Council for the third time in a row, with a solo exhibition of Samson Young’s work curated by Ying Kwok.
>>documenta 14 in Kassel
documenta is an international exhibition of contemporary art which takes place in Kassel, Germany every 5 years since 1955. The documenta featured prominent artist through the years including artists with significant influence on modern art including Robert Rauschenberg in the 1st year, and a shift to contemporary art over time.
In 2017, the documenta 14 is institutionally inscribed acknowledging the crisis of the modern utopia of ‘public space’ within the framework of the European Union. documenta 14 unfolds into a Parliament of Bodies, a performative structure that challenges not only the traditional exhibition/- public program divide, but also the opposition between Kassel and Athens, North and South epistemologies, normative thinking and subjugated knowledges and practices as well as gender, sex, race, and class hierarchies.
>>Sculpture Projects Münster
Sculpture Projects Münster is a sculpture exhibition in public spaces in the town of Munster, Germany. The exhibition feature world class sculptors’ masterpieces for free in different places all over the town every ten years since 1977. Its origin is lined with the idea of creating a public not just with but also for art.
Fully conscious of the difficulties of defining ‘public’ in connection with the term ‘art in the public realm’, the exhibition this year are focus on that art in the urban realm is capable of activating historical, architectural, social, political and aesthetic contexts. The generous rhythm of the show’s realization distinguishes the exhibition from other events. For the 5th edition of the show, the curatorial team includes Kasper Konig as artistic director with Britta Peters and Marianne Wagner. The exhibition includes 35 new artistic productions.

Passports & Visas:
All travellers must have a valid passport for international travel and many countries require at least 6 months validity from the date of return and some countries require a machine-readable passport. When assisting with an international travel booking, we will assume that all travellers on the booking have a valid passport. If this is not the case, you must let us know. It is important that you ensure that you have valid passports, visas and re-entry permits which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be your sole responsibility (except to the extent caused by fault on our part). We do not warrant the accuracy of information provided by any external service and accept no liability for any loss or damage, which you may suffer in reliance on it (except to the extent caused by fault on our part).
Carriers publish baggage allowances applicable for carriage over their own services. Allowances include cabin baggage and checked baggage. These allowances tend to be based on a weight allowance or a piece system. We recommend you check your baggage allowance carefully, as you may incur a charge for the carriage of baggage in excess of their free baggage allowance. Carriers also publish baggage safety notices, which detail items that cannot be carried or can only be carried in checked baggage. Again, we recommend you ask your chosen carrier about the applicable baggage safety requirements.
You must ensure that you are aware of any health requirements and recommended precautions relevant to your travel and to ensure that you carry all necessary vaccination documentation. In some cases, failure to present required vaccination documentation (e.g. proof of Yellow Fever vaccination) may deny you entry into a country. We recommend that you consultant with your local doctor, travel medical service or specialist vaccination clinic before commencing your travel.
