Talent wanted- Gallery Manager

1a space is looking for gallery manager (1a space: a non-profit making contemporary art space funded by Hong Kong Arts Development Council). Applications are invited for the post of Gallery Manager.

Requirements 1. A well-organized, mature and independent person with not less than six years of full time administrative working experience. 2. With strong interest in working with artists and related events and projects. 3. Excellent communication skill and good writing skills in both English and Chinese. 4. Preferably with Degree in Art, Design, Culture Studies, Art Administration or related disciplines. 5. Preferably with knowledge of setting art exhibitions and or related experience or willingness to further acquire the knowledge of exhibition production. 6. Familiarity with social media and willingness to boost the online presence of 1a space. Job duties: 1. Manage the daily operation of the gallery and the office. 2. Assist the Board of Director with the execution of the organization. 3. Assist artists for the preparation and production of art and cultural related exhibitions and projects. 4. Research on funding opportunities and assisting in related applications 5. Coordination of installation and de-installation of exhibitions 6. Promotion of exhibitions and other events 7. Liaison with other arts organizations. 8. Supervision on the maintenance of 1a space archive.
