    1a space has been organizing the fair’s school tours on providing insights on art appreciation to art teachers and students. Reaching the 7th of the partnership with Art Basel's show in Hong Kong this year, 1a space provides guided tours to primary and secondary school teachers and students aged 11 or above during show hours upon booking. Paid Guided Tour Service Provided by 1a space ALL touring services only available for booking on Public Days (29,30,31 March 2019). Charge : HKD $100 per person Length of tour : 45 mins Language : Cantonese/Mandarin/English Group size : 2 to 15 person (a maximum of 15 students requires at least one accompanying teacher) Tour Guide : Professionally trained current or graduated university students major in Fine Arts, or other Arts & Cultural disciplines with knowledge of art history in the field of contemporary art Content : highlights of artworks and art organisations in the art fair. The show provides an in-depth overview of the region's diversity through both historical material and cutting-edge works by established and emerging artists.   1a space has been organizing the official school tours on providing insights on art appreciation to art teachers and students. Reaching the 7th year as the School Tour Host of the show in Hong Kong, 1a space provides guided tours to primary and secondary school teachers and students aged 11 or above by local artists or arts students from tertiary education during the show on 29th and 30th March 2019.   A complimentary one-day admission ticket will be given to successful applicants. Registration can be up to a maximum 15 students and each application requires at least one accompanying teacher.   In view of the active response of the guided tour to ensure our service quality, we would like to invite you to complete a questionnaire about your participation in the previous School guided tours with us at Art Basel. It is a unique opportunity for current students in Arts, culture and humanities disciplines in obtaining contemporary art exhibition experience in a gallery setting. The intern will work closely with the management team of 1a space to gain insights into art/cultural project development, event logistics, exhibition setup and dismantling, as well as other art administrative tasks. Over the past twenty years, 1a space has presented and organized more than 160 exhibitions and activities. 1a space has played a vital role in developing new frontiers for the visual arts scene in Hong Kong and its representation abroad. 1a space is now inviting applicants for the position of Community Art Mediator, Transmedia Content Creator and Placemaking Coordinator. These positions aim to allow the candidate to perform competently in the arts and cultural industry and will be introduced to various aspects of management and production of arts events. Community Arts Mediator Responsibilities: • General administrative support • Work closely with community art project. • Conduct research • Guided tours, public facing role • Design and lead guided tours on different themes appropriately • Assist exhibition installation and dismantlement • Offer assistance to project managers • Office admin stuff (taking notes, in charge of library inventory, office maintenance) • Work closely with the gallery administrative team on executing exhibition, workshops and public programmes Requirements: • Hong Kong permanent residents aged 18 or above • Possess a recognised university degree preferably in fine arts, design, Cultural Management, Arts & Humanities or equivalent within the last 2 years • Creative and strong passion in contemporary arts • A team player motivated to work in a creative environment with strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills • Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English • Required to work at flexible hours or on Saturday, Sunday or public holidays for operational needs • Immediately available preferred Transmedia Content Creator (Digital Marketing Coordinator) Responsibilities: • General administrative support • Develop and implement marketing strategies and promotional campaign for the gallery, exhibition and related cultural programmes • Manage social media platforms • Offer assistance to daily operation of the gallery and during gallery events Requirements: • Hong Kong permanent residents aged 18 or above • Possess a recognised university degree preferably in graphic design, exhibition design, creative media, arts production, publishing and editorial affairs or related field within the last 2 years. • Creative and strong passion in contemporary arts • Excellent design sense, good knowledge in creative output and printing • Experience with proven shooting, production and editing skills will be an advantage • Good knowledge in digital equipment set up • Good photographic techniques • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Video editing will be an advantage • Knowledge of web programming and experience of RWD (Responsive Web Design) will be an advantage • Knowledge of technical operation and functions of the camera, video camera, tripod, lights, microphones and cables will be an advantage • Highly organized and motivated to work in a creative environment • Strong communication and organizational skills • Required to work at flexible hours or on Saturday, Sunday or public holidays for operational needs • Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English • Immediately available preferred Transmedia Content Creator (Technical Coordinator) Responsibilities: • General administrative support • Provide in-house IT support • Determine technical problems and perform trouble-shooting • Responsible for visual documentation including photography, video taking and editing • Offer assistance to daily operation of the gallery and during gallery events • Artwork installation and logistic Requirements: • Hong Kong permanent residents aged 18 or above • Possess a recognised university degree preferably in creative media, arts production, Computer Science or IT related field within the last 3 years. • Strong interest in working professionally in the arts industry • Experience with proven shooting, production and editing skills • Creative mindset and able to work independently on constructing design concept, final artwork to production • Good knowledge in digital equipment set up • Good photographic techniques • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Video editing will be an advantage • Knowledge of web programming and experience of RWD (Responsive Web Design) will be an advantage • Knowledge of     If you are passionate about art and looking for an internship experience with flexible working schedule during your studying, welcome to join the 1a space Internship Programme - 2018 Fall to 2019 Spring to explore one of the most prominent art organization in Hong Kong. It is a unique opportunity for current students in Arts, culture and humanities disciplines in obtaining contemporary art exhibition experience in a gallery setting. The intern will work closely with the management team of 1a space to gain insights into art/cultural project development, event logistics, exhibition setup and dismantling, as well as other art administrative tasks. Internship Schedule: Application period: now until 23 September 2018 Duration: October 2018 to April 2019 ( 6 months) Working hours: Part time - Working dates are negotiable You will be able to: - work closely with curators and artists to organize art events - participate in large-scale outreach and public event including festival and art fair - gain practical training in curatorial work through active involvement in our exhibition preparations and logistics, while working closely with the team members of 1a space to assist in exhibition installation and dismantling, opening events, exhibition reception, guided tours and other administrative work of the gallery Successful candidates for the Internship will be provided with travel allowance. We are looking for: Fresh graduate/ student currently studying art, design, humanities, architecture, moving images, art education, museum studies or other related subjects; with strong interest in working professionally in the contemporary art field. A good team player with good communication skills. Outgoing, gracious and obliging with good command of spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin). Skills in photography, videography and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
