Activity Details
Urban Image Remix Party: A Collaborative Community Jam
Drawing inspiration from the everyday streetscapes and fragments of daily life in the To Kwa Wan community, participants will create their own unique prints. By exchanging and overlaying these prints onto each other's T-shirts or personal fabrics, individual artistic expressions will merge into a collective visual outcome.
Moving away from traditional workshops focused on individual outcomes, this project highlights the "reproducibility" and "exchangeability" of printmaking, turning it into a collaborative learning experience.
Embracing upcycling and sustainability, the workshop breathes a second life into old garments using repurposed materials. When worn, the participants' bodies become "mobile exhibition spaces," carrying and recording the tangible traces of this collective creation process.
Fee: HKD 300/pax
Audience Requirement
1/ Workshop Materials
Participants are welcome to bring their own old garments or discarded fabrics (such as T-shirts, tank tops, etc.) for printing to give these old items a second life.
If unable to bring their own, Printfolks will provide basic T-shirts on-site.
2/ Image Sharing Agreement
The physical items completed during the workshop belong to the participants.
Participants agree to authorize and share the usage rights of their created print designs with Printfolks. These images will be included in the "Community Image Archive" for academic research, educational promotion, public exhibitions, or publications.
3/ Photography & Media Consent
Participants consent to photography and video recording during the event. The recorded visuals will be used for project promotion, social media posts (e.g., Instagram), project reports, and documentation purposes.
