With the backdrop of globalisation, everything has become so familiar and obvious; Hi-Tech and Harmony have dressed up everything with the latest chic, while four female artists paint a different picture of here and now.
With a collage of works by the artists, the exhibition seems to have entered the realm of the pre-historic. TANG Ying-mui traveled through space and time and weaved a modern dwelling from the pre-historic thoughts of a modern man, using simple materials and instinctive ways, to regain the individual capability to construct.
In the globalised era, the powerful established exemplars and charters, and these have diminished the ability of people to be self-sufficient. In the work of Monti LAI Wai-yi, inconspicuous genies appear from various corners. They are diminutive and subtle, and yet one could see the artist's hope for something miraculous.
