藝術家周睿宏與獨立策展人容穎怡進行對話，從近期兩群展《不知輕重》及《Hope all is well with you》作品中的物質性與其空間之間關係出發，回溯/推演周之創作脈絡，作品的空間佈局，與其一系列包含窗戶，和窗戶所暗示的延伸空間。此外，周氏也分享過往不同形式的集體創作經驗。

Artist Dave Chow had a conversation with Zoie Yung, an independent curator, on his current artistic practice. The discussion started with Chow’s works in the recent two group shows: "Proper Weight" and "Hope all is well with you" focusing on materiality and spatial relationship. The set of works consists of a window motif and the extended space it suggested. Apart from that, Chow also shared his experience with previous collaborative works.

周睿宏

周睿宏於 1993 年於香港出生，2015 年畢業於香港浸會大學視覺藝術院。他對物件本身的意義和物料的物理性差異特感興趣，慣於挪用現成物和影像來梳理個人情感和生活狀態。

周睿宏現於香港生活及工作。他於芝加哥駐留期間完成其首個個展「太陽下山時要開電視」。曾參與的展覽包括「不知輕重」(火炭，2022)、「「Hope all is well with you」(1a空間，香港，2021)、「聲音掏腰包:ASP 十年展」(富利來商場，香港，2021)、「剛剛好」(艺鵠藝術空間，香港，2018)、「靜觀默察」(安全口畫廊，香港，2018)和 「讓我來重蹈你覆轍」(common room & co.，香港，2018)等。

About Speaker

Dave Chow Yui-wang

Dave Chow Yui-wang was born in Hong Kong in 1993. He graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 2015. He is especially interested in the materiality and the physicality of things. His works display and distill his everyday experience through appropriating, transforming, and assembling ready-made objects.

Chow currently lives and works in Hong Kong. During his residency in Chicago in 2018, He had his first solo exhibition Switch on the Television When the Sun Sets. His works shown in local exhibitions include Proper Weight (Fo Tan, 2022), Hope all is well with you (1a space, 2021), 10 Years of ASP (soundpocket, Fu Lee Loy Shopping Centre, 2021), EQUILIBRIUM (ACO Art Space, 2018), Observe / Scrutinise / Perceive (Gallery Exit, 2018), and again and again (Common Room & co, 2018), etc.

容穎怡

容穎怡，展覽顧問及獨立策展人，曾任上海 chi K11 藝術館展覽經理。現居香港。她將自身對西洋占星和中國玄學的認識應用到藝術策展，以及為藝術機構策劃公共教育活動。近期策展包括 《晟》，世界畫廊(2023)，Wonder-verse (2022)，chi K11 art space 及《浮翠流丹》(2021)，都爹利會館。近期公教合作機構包括大館當代美術館，Para Site 藝術空間，1a space，香港視覺藝術中心。

About Moderator

Zoie Yung

Zoie Yung, currently based in Hong Kong, is an independent exhibition consultant and curator, and former exhibition manager of chi K11 art museum in Shanghai. She provides a unique approach to exhibition production by combining practice in exhibition spatial arrangement and her knowledge of Chinese Xuanxue as well as western astrology. Selected recent exhibitions include Wonder-verse (chi K11 art space Hong Kong, 2022) and Curve of Buoyancy (Duddell’s, Hong Kong, 2021). She also actively organises public education campaigns, she had collaborated with local organisations including Tai Kwun Contemporary, Para Site, 1a space, and Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre.

建築應該是藝術先行還是功能先行？可以走進去的大型雕塑是屬於建築物還是藝術品？這些議題對於身處不同崗位的建築或藝術人來說，可能會有不同的定義。建築與藝術的關係從來都是複合多元的。從古羅馬年代開始，建築學已包含系統性的美學要求，期後經過了後現代解構主義對美學定義的顛覆，美感還是建築藝術的必要條件嗎？時至今日，建築與藝術的關係又可以如何定義？

是次分享由資深建築系教授與建築／藝術人帶領，從中西古今文化中輕談建築與藝術的複合關係。

Art or structure, form or function comes first in architecture? Walk inside a large-scale sculpture, do we call it a work of art or architecture? Architect or artist coming from different positions may have different interpretation towards these issues. The relationship between architecture and art has always been complex. Since ancient Rome, architecture embraces systematic aesthetics, which has been deconstructed in the postmodern era. Is there still a need for aesthetics in modern architecture? And how do we define art and architecture now?

This dialogue between architecture professor and architect/artist will delve into the multi-layered relationship between architecture and art from ancient to modern and East to West.

鄭炳鴻

香港建築師學會資深會員；香港及中國註冊建築師；香港大學建築學院副教授；1a 空間主席；社區營造學社總監；美國哈佛大學燕京學社訪問學者；活化歷史建築諮詢委員。同時是城市設計、文化保育及社區參與的建築實踐者及理論家；其設計由城市衛生間到大學教學樓曾多次獲獎；亦是社會推進者，通過城市環境、社區保育及持續規劃倡導公民意識，更積極倡議石仔嶺老人院區規劃及相關建築設計；其研究成果展覽包括「人居城市」及「竹跡。築跡」；近年研究「啟德河綠廊社區教育計劃」（香港藝術發展局2013藝術教育獎及2015國際公共藝術獎），聚焦香港及華南城市都市更新過程中的文化認同及城市持續發展議題；為表揚鄭氏對促進文化保育的貢獻，獲民政事務局局長於2015頒發「嘉許狀」。

史穎怡

建築師／藝術人，2005年香港中文大學建築系碩士、2021年香港中文大學藝術文學碩士畢業。任職建築師期間活躍於藝術創作、藝展場館設計及本地／國際建築與藝術展策展工作，並曾創辦 ARTUP 藝術顧問及3fifteen 藝術空間。獲獎裝置及雕塑作品曾於本地及國際藝展展出，作品《鳴帆》及《信．念》現見於尖沙嘴科學館廣場及中環中央郵政總局。賽馬會「樂地生根」大埔／粉嶺藝展場館設計獲CHIVAS 18建築年獎設計大獎（2015）。2014年任威尼斯建築雙年展「三角四方（1984-2044）」策展團隊成員，亦曾以展出團隊成員身分參與深港建築雙年展「城市動員」（2009）及「香港城市邊緣｜理想之都」（2013）、威尼斯建築雙年展「衣食住行」（2010）及「垂直肌理 – 密度的地景」（2018）。

目前專注於藝術教育、策展工作及空間心理學與感知研究項目。

About Speaker

Prof. Chang Ping Hung, Wallace

Fellow of HKIA; Registered Architect in Hong Kong and China; Associate Professor, Department of Architecture, HKU; Chairman of 1a space; Director of the Urban Place Research Unit; Visiting Scholar in Harvard-Yenching Institute, Harvard University; Advisory Committee Member on Revitalization of Historic Buildings. He is both an architectural practitioner and theorist on urban design, cultural conservation and community participation. His award-winning designs range from urban washroom to university academic building. Also, he is a social activist to promote a civil consciousness on urban environment, community conservation and sustainable planning, including his recent advocacy on the redevelopment planning and architecture of Shek Tsai Leng [Dills Corner Garden] Elderly Caring District. He has been conducting research with exhibition in Habitat City and Bamboo Theatre. His latest research, Kai Tak River Green Corridor Community Education Project [HKADC 2013 Award of Arts Education, International Award for Public Art 2015], focuses on cultural identity and urban sustainability issues during the urban transformation process in Hong Kong and southern Chinese cities. To recognize his contribution to the promotion of cultural conservation, he was awarded Certificate of Commendation by the Secretary for Home Affairs in 2015.

Haynie Sze Wing Yee

Haynie Sze is an architect/art practitioner who graduated with a Master of Architecture (2005) and a Master of Art in Fine Arts (2021) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has been active in art making, exhibition venue design and curating, besides her career as a practising architect. She has also founded the 3fifteen Art Space and the ARTUP Art Consultancy. Her award-winning artworks have been exhibited in local and international art exhibitions. Public artworks include Whistling Aloft and the Letters installed at the Hong Kong Science Museum Plaza in Tsim Sha Tsui and the Central Post Office, Hong Kong. Venue design for the Hong Kong Jockey Club Heritage X Art X Design Walk Event Tai Po exhibition was awarded the Best Temporary Architecture Design (2015) of the CHIVAS 18 Architecture & Design Award. Her curatorial role includes being a curatorial team member of the Venice Biennale of Architecture – “Delta Four (1984-2044)” (2014), and has participated as an exhibitor team member in the SZ/ HK Bi-city Biennale of Architecture – “City Mobilization” (2009) & “Beyond the Urban Edge: The Ideal City?”(2013), and Venice Biennale of Architecture – “Quotidian Architectures” (2010) & “Vertical Fabric – Density in Landscape” (2018).

She currently focuses on art teaching, curating and architectural research on spatial psychology and perception.
