作為香港活躍的獨立藝術機構及場所之一，1a空間自2010年起提供培訓和實習機會給予有意投身藝術行政及文化管理的本地大專生及畢業生，讓實習生親身體驗本地藝術行政人員的日常工作及了解獨立藝術空間的營運模式，藉此獲取於藝術文化圈的實戰工作經驗，於未來的職場學以致用。

2017年的4輪1a空間實習生計劃經已完滿結束。本年度1a空間共招聘了9位實習生，工作內容除了日常的藝術行政工作外，更協助團隊進行展覽佈置和後勤工作。與此同時，實習生也參與了各個大型活動的籌備工作，例如在《意變形隨》、《玻光蕩漾》 王鈴蓁玻璃藝術個展、《念 . 斗室_》、《星光堆砌的我們》中協助展覽佈置;《飛躍龍城藝彩活動系列 - 在一起معا Together سو》計劃中協助籌辦社區工作坊，參與《廿年回歸前後話》、《形同虛設——文學。視藝。再造香港史》導賞及講座等。

As an independent art institution and venue in Hong Kong, 1a space has provided training and internship opportunities to local university students and fresh graduates with strong interest in working professionally in the contemporary art since 2010. The internship scheme allows the interns to work closely with 1a space team to experience and learn about the daily operation of independent art space, which they can gain practical working experience in the art field for their future career.

4 rounds of internship programme were held in 2017 and recruited 9 interns in total. Interns had worked close with 1a space in daily administration work, exhibition set up and logistics in exhibition “Ways of Surviving through Accelerated Mindfulness”, “The Shape of Time – Glass Art Solo Exhibition by Sunny Wang”, “Making room for_” and “Our Bones Are Made of Starlight”. Moreover, Interns also participated in preparation and carry out different public events like organizing workshops with neighbours in “Art@Kowloon City District – Together” programme, participating in “Talkover/Handover2.0” and “A Pseudo Presence – Remaking Hong Kong History” guided tour and talk.
