The first biennial of Italian Art was established to celebrate the silver anniversary of King Umberto I and Margherita of Savoy. The documenta featured prominent artist through the years including artists with significant influence on modern art including Robert Rauschenberg in the 1st year, and a shift to contemporary art over time. In 2017, the documenta 14 is institutionally inscribed acknowledging the crisis of the modern utopia of ‘public space’ within the framework of the European Union. documenta 14 unfolds into a Parliament of Bodies, a performative structure that challenges not only the traditional exhibition/- public program divide, but also the opposition between Kassel and Athens, North and South epistemologies, normative thinking and subjugated knowledges and practices as well as gender, sex, race, and class hierarchies. >>Sculpture Projects Münster Sculpture Projects Münster is a sculpture exhibition in public spaces in the town of Munster, Germany. The exhibition feature world class sculptors’ masterpieces for free in different places all over the town every ten years since 1977. Its origin is lined with the idea of creating a public not just with but also for art. Fully conscious of the difficulties of defining ‘public’ in connection with the term ‘art in the public realm’, the exhibition this year are focus on that art in the urban realm is capable of activating historical, architectural, social, political and aesthetic contexts. The generous rhythm of the show’s realization distinguishes the exhibition from other events. For the 5th edition of the show, the curatorial team includes Kasper Konig as artistic director with Britta Peters and Marianne Wagner. The exhibition includes 35 new artistic productions. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ITINERARY (may be subject to variations based on availability) - 1 day from Hong Kong to Kassel - 4 days in documenta at Kassel - 2 days in Sculpture Projects Münster - 4 days at the Venice Biennale - 1 day from Venice to Hong Kong *A professional guide from Hong Kong with academic expertise in contemporary art *Participants are responsible to secure their own VISAs *Price does not include guide fees and travel insurances (Travel Agent No.353841) The tour will be led by a professional academic LEE Wing Ki A professional academic of the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University and active art practitioner in Hong Kong.
